Exxon DecommissioningThe initial phase of the project was to empty the oil and water residue from the tanks and toproceed with the degassing of the containers. Environmental Health & Safety, in partnershipwith the UC Office of the President and ExxonMobil, initiated the clean-up process. TheUniversity and ExxonMobil jointly covered the $750K cost associated with the cleanup efforts.The next phase of the project will be the dismantling and removal of the tanks.
