UC DIVE & BOAT SAFETY ENTERPRISEIn July 2023, UCSB began managing the newly established UC Dive and Boat Safety Enterprise that provides oversightand support for all scientific diving and boating operations for UCB, UCI, UCM, UCR & the UC Gump Field Station onMoorea. This Enterprise also enables these campuses to meet the scientific diving standards of the Fed and CalOccupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) byproviding the training, dive planning, and logistical support required for this type of underwater work. Furthermore, ithelps ensure that all member-related scientific boating activities meet the requirements set forth by the US CoastGuard, the California Department of Boating and Waterways, and the Scientific Boating Safety Association.
