DECOMMISSIONING THEELLWOOD MARINE TERMINAL The Campus is in the process of obtaining the applicable permits to fully decommission the Ellwood MarineTerminal (EMT) through removal of the facilities and restoration of the site. The oil and water residue was emptiedand the containers were degassed in FY 2020-21. The demolition process will include the removal and recycling ofidentified EMT equipment and facilities, along with handling and disposal of any non-hazardous and/or hazardouswaste generated from demolition activities. The project is a collaborative effort between UCSB, UCOP andExxonMobil, based on an agreement signed by all three entities.
